Texas Hold’em Hyperdrive Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 17, 2026
Texas Hold’em Hyperdrive (the “App”) is a Texas Hold’em rules and probability learning reference provided by Breeze Gao. This policy explains how we access, use, store, and protect data in connection with the App.
1. Our Privacy Principles
The App does not sell user data, does not use advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs, and does not use data for advertising, data brokerage, or tracking across other apps or websites.
The App has no account system; you can use every feature without registering. We collect only a limited set of data to understand how the product is used, improve features and stability, and diagnose problems: Usage Analytics is on by default and can be turned off at any time (see Section 4), and card photos are uploaded only with your explicit consent (see Section 2).
2. Camera Access and Card Photos
The App requests camera access only when you use the card-scanning feature, to photograph playing cards.
If you agree to use this feature, the card photos you take are compressed and uploaded to a recognition service that we operate ourselves, and are used to:
- recognize the cards in the photo and fill the results into the analysis screen;
- improve the recognition model (model training).
Before you use card scanning for the first time, the App separately asks for your consent to use photos for recognition and model training. If you decline, card scanning is unavailable, but manual card entry and every other feature remain fully usable.
Uploaded photos contain only the card imagery itself, accompanied by a randomly generated installation identifier and technical diagnostic details (such as a request identifier and timing). They do not include your name, location, or other information that directly identifies you.
To delete the photos and annotation data associated with your current installation, contact us at [email protected] (see Section 10).
3. Local Data
The following data is stored only in the App’s private storage on your device by default and is not uploaded:
- the hole cards, community cards, and analysis results you enter;
- player notes (including free-form remarks);
- App settings, language preferences, and learning progress;
- local diagnostic logs related to the App’s operation.
Uninstalling the App deletes this local data.
4. Usage Analytics
This feature is called “Usage Analytics” in the App, under More > Data & Privacy.
Usage Analytics is on by default and helps us understand whether each feature works correctly so we can improve the product. You can turn it off at any time under More > Data & Privacy; collection and sending stop immediately. Turning analytics off does not limit any feature.
When Usage Analytics is on, analytics data is first queued on your device and then sent in batches to a first-party analytics service that we operate ourselves. Unsent data is kept on the device for at most 7 days.
When you turn Usage Analytics off, the App first shows a confirmation prompt. If you choose “Turn Off Anyway,” the App makes a best-effort attempt to send one final request before stopping (containing your confirmation choice and the opt-out state, so we can stop counting this installation); a failed send does not block the opt-out. The App then immediately stops collecting and sending, and clears any unsent analytics data from the device.
5. Data We Collect
With Usage Analytics turned on, the App collects:
- feature usage and outcomes, such as screen visits, hand analyses started and completed, card-scanning success or failure, learning content viewed, how often the player-notes feature is used, and the outcomes of trial and purchase flows (never the content of your notes);
- App version, build number, release channel, device make and model, operating-system name and version, App language, system language, region format, and time zone;
- a randomly generated installation identifier, used to group data produced by the same installation.
When a technical error occurs (for example a recognition failure, purchase failure, or network error), the App may also collect the error category, error code, and diagnostic details that have been length-limited and scrubbed of sensitive content, to help us investigate.
Based on the time zone and language region reported by your device, we infer your country or region on the server (at country/region granularity) to understand where our users are. We do not capture your IP address for location purposes, and we do not request or collect your precise location.
The random installation identifier itself contains no name, Apple ID, IDFA, device serial number, phone number, or account information, but it is information we process. You can request deletion of the data associated with your current installation identifier by email (see Section 10).
6. Data We Never Collect
Usage Analytics never collects:
- any content of your player notes;
- personal information that directly identifies you, such as your name, email address, phone number, Apple ID, or advertising identifier;
- precise location or IP-based location information.
We do not attempt to identify specific individuals through Usage Analytics, and we do not combine this data with data from other apps, websites, or third parties. Analytics data is not used for advertising, tracking across apps or websites, or automated decision-making.
7. In-App Purchases and Payments
The App offers a one-time Pro in-app purchase. Purchases, restores, and refunds are handled by the Apple App Store, and Apple processes your payment information under its own terms and privacy policy.
The App does not collect, store, or otherwise access any of your payment information (such as card numbers or billing addresses). With Usage Analytics on, we record only the outcome category of a purchase flow (such as completed, cancelled, or failed, with a failure-reason category) to diagnose purchase problems.
8. How We Use Data
We use the data we collect only to:
- understand whether each feature works correctly and roughly how it is used;
- improve the quality and stability of hand analysis, card scanning, learning content, and other features;
- diagnose errors, recognition failures, and purchase failures;
- understand the country/region and language distribution of our users, to prioritize localization and improvements;
- improve the card-recognition model (only using card photos you consented to upload);
- produce aggregate statistics that do not identify any individual.
9. Data Retention
Usage Analytics data is currently retained for the following periods:
- raw usage events: up to 90 days;
- scrubbed error details: up to 30 days;
- aggregate statistics: about 2 years (730 days);
- unsent data on your device: up to 7 days.
For card photos you consented to upload: the original uploads are kept for up to 30 days; processed copies used for model training, together with their annotations, are kept until you request deletion.
Data past its retention period is removed by scheduled cleanup. If these retention periods change, we will update this policy.
10. Opting Out and Deleting Data
You can turn Usage Analytics off at any time under More > Data & Privacy; collection and sending stop immediately.
To delete data you have uploaded, email [email protected]:
- To delete Usage Analytics data: include your installation identifier. You can view it under More > Data & Privacy > Data Deletion and copy it with the Copy button. If no installation identifier has been generated on your device, no analytics data exists for it.
- To delete card photos and annotations: tell us roughly when you used card scanning and your device model, and we will locate and delete the corresponding data.
We will delete the corresponding data within a reasonable period after receiving your request (normally no more than 30 days) and reply to you by email with the result.
Anonymous aggregate data that can no longer be linked to a specific installation or person may not be individually identifiable or deletable.
Uninstalling the App does not automatically submit a deletion request to our servers. The analytics installation identifier lives in the App’s private storage and disappears when the App is uninstalled, after which we can no longer locate the corresponding data — so if you want your data deleted, please make the request before uninstalling.
11. Your Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, copies of, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of processing of data relating to you, and to withdraw consent or object to processing.
You can exercise these rights through the Usage Analytics switch in the App or by emailing us at [email protected]. To protect data security, we may need to reasonably verify that a request relates to the installation in question. For data that has been anonymized and can no longer be linked to a specific installation or person, we may be unable to provide, correct, or individually delete it.
12. Data Controller, Services, and Data Location
Personal information handler / data controller: Breeze Gao
Contact: [email protected]
Usage Analytics data and card photos are processed by first-party services that we operate ourselves and are not shared with third-party analytics platforms, advertising platforms, or data brokers.
The data is stored in data centers located in Canada. Where data must be transferred across borders, we provide the required notices, apply appropriate safeguards, and obtain consent where the law requires it.
13. Data Security
The App protects local data using the device’s private App storage. All uploaded data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
We length-limit and scrub error details (removing email addresses, links, file paths, long digit sequences, and similar) to reduce the risk of accidentally including sensitive content. The server applies a further sensitive-content filter before data is stored.
14. Children’s Privacy
The App is a learning reference for poker rules and probabilities, intended for a general adult audience. It is not designed for children and contains no real-money gaming or gambling features. We do not knowingly collect identifying information from children.
If you believe a child has provided us with such data, please contact us at [email protected]. We will verify and handle the request in accordance with applicable law. Where the law requires guardian consent, we will not process the child’s data until valid consent has been obtained.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
If there is a material change to what we collect, how we use it, or how it is shared, we will provide additional notice — such as an in-App prompt — as required by applicable law, and obtain fresh consent where required.
