Breeze Cam Privacy

Review how this app handles privacy-related information before you use it.

BreezeCam Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 13, 2026

BreezeCam is a local-first camera monitoring and recording app provided by Breeze Gao. This policy explains how we access, use, store, and protect relevant data.

1. Our Privacy Principles

BreezeCam does not sell user data, use advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs, or use data for advertising, data brokerage, or cross-app or cross-website tracking.

We collect only the limited usage data needed to understand product usage, improve features and reliability, and diagnose problems.

2. Camera, Microphone, and Photos Permissions

BreezeCam uses the following permissions only to provide the relevant features:

  • Camera: to show a live preview and record monitoring video;
  • Microphone: to record audio when audio recording is enabled;
  • Photos add-only access: only when you choose “Save to Photos.”

BreezeCam does not use Photos add-only access to browse your photo library. Content captured by the camera and microphone is not sent to the Usage Analytics service.

3. Recordings, Local Data, and External Storage

The following data is stored in the app's private space on your device by default:

  • Recordings, thumbnails, playback cache, and the recording index;
  • App settings and upload status;
  • Operational diagnostic logs related to the app lifecycle and storage operations;
  • Debug timeline files produced when you enable the relevant features.

Local recordings are retained according to the retention policy you select in the app. You can delete recordings in the app.

Recordings or related data are sent to your private iCloud database, S3, WebDAV, or SMB/Samba storage that you configure, or copied to the system Photos library only when you choose the corresponding feature.

BreezeCam does not operate these external storage services. Apple or the storage provider you choose processes relevant data under its own terms and privacy policy. Uninstalling BreezeCam does not automatically delete files already stored in iCloud, external storage, or the system Photos library. Remote deletion availability depends on the selected storage service and the features currently supported by the app.

4. Usage Analytics

This feature is called “Usage Analytics” in BreezeCam. You can view or change its status under Settings > About > Usage Analytics. Turning Usage Analytics off does not affect recording, playback, storage, or other core features.

The initial Usage Analytics status is determined as follows:

  • Where applicable law requires prior consent, no Usage Analytics data is sent before you consent;
  • In other cases, Usage Analytics defaults to on, and you can turn it off at any time.

If you select “Turn Off Anyway” in the confirmation prompt, BreezeCam makes one request before disabling Usage Analytics. That request contains two records: the confirmation selection and the opt-out status. A failed request does not prevent opt-out and is not retried. The app then disables Usage Analytics and clears unsent analytics and diagnostic data from the device.

5. Data We Collect

When Usage Analytics is enabled, BreezeCam collects:

  • Usage and outcomes of features, settings, monitoring, recording, and storage functions;
  • Trial and purchase flow outcomes;
  • App version, build number, release channel, device brand and model, system name and version, app language, system language, and locale;
  • A randomly generated installation identifier used to aggregate data from the same installation.

When a technical error occurs, BreezeCam may also collect error codes, failure categories, and length-limited and redacted diagnostic information to help diagnose the problem.

The random installation identifier does not itself contain a name, Apple ID, IDFA, device serial number, phone number, or user account, but it is information that we process. You can request deletion of data associated with the current installation identifier through the app. After the deletion request is accepted, the app replaces the identifier.

6. Data We Do Not Collect

Usage Analytics does not collect:

  • Recordings or other visual content;
  • Audio content;
  • Server addresses, file names, storage paths, accounts, or storage credentials;
  • Personal information that directly identifies you, such as your name, email address, phone number, Apple ID, advertising identifier, or user account.

We do not attempt to identify a specific person through Usage Analytics or combine this data with data from other apps, websites, or third parties. Usage Analytics data is not used for advertising, cross-app or cross-website tracking, or automated decision-making.

7. How We Use Data

We use Usage Analytics data only to:

  • Understand whether features work correctly and how they are used in general;
  • Improve the reliability of recording, storage, upload, and playback;
  • Diagnose errors, upload failures, and purchase failures;
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of product improvements;
  • Produce aggregate statistics that do not identify a specific person.

8. Usage Analytics Data Retention

Usage Analytics data is currently retained for the following periods:

  • Raw usage events: up to 90 days;
  • Redacted error details: up to 30 days;
  • Aggregate statistics: approximately 2 years (730 days);
  • Unsent data on the device: up to 7 days.

Data exceeding these retention periods is removed through periodic cleanup. We will update this policy if the retention periods change.

9. Turning Off Usage Analytics and Deleting Data

You can do the following at any time in the app:

  • Turn off Usage Analytics;
  • Clear unsent data;
  • Request deletion of server data associated with the current random installation identifier.

After a deletion request is successfully submitted, we will delete usage events, error reports, and installation-level statistics associated with the current installation identifier within a reasonable period and generate a new random installation identifier. If submission fails, the app will ask you to try again later.

Anonymous aggregate data that can no longer be linked to a particular installation or person may not be individually identifiable or deletable.

Uninstalling the app may not submit a deletion request to the server. To delete Usage Analytics data, use the “Delete Analytics Data” feature in the app before uninstalling.

10. Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, a copy of, correction or deletion of, or restriction of processing of data related to you. You may also withdraw consent or object to processing.

You can exercise relevant rights through the Usage Analytics switch and deletion feature in the app, or by contacting us at [email protected]. To protect data security, we may need to reasonably verify the relationship between a request and the relevant installation. We may be unable to provide, modify, or separately delete data that has been anonymized and can no longer be linked to a particular installation or person.

11. Data Controller, Services, and Data Location

Data controller: Breeze Gao

Contact: [email protected]

Usage Analytics data is processed by a first-party analytics service that we operate. It is not provided to third-party analytics platforms, advertising platforms, or data brokers.

Analytics data is stored in Canada.

If data must be transferred across borders, we will provide notices and safeguards required by applicable law and obtain consent where legally required.

12. Data Security

BreezeCam uses private device storage and security mechanisms provided by the operating system to protect local data and storage credentials.

Usage Analytics data is sent over encrypted network connections. Error information is length-limited and redacted to reduce the risk of unintentionally including sensitive content.

If you configure external storage, you are responsible for choosing a secure service address, account, and network environment.

13. Children's Privacy

BreezeCam is intended for a general audience and is not specifically designed for children. We do not knowingly collect children's identifying information through Usage Analytics.

If you believe a child has provided relevant data to us, contact [email protected]. We will verify and process the request in accordance with applicable law. Where parental consent is required by law, we will not process relevant children's data before obtaining valid consent.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this policy page with a new effective date.

If the scope, purpose, or sharing of collected data changes materially, we will provide a separate notice through the app or another appropriate method as required by applicable law and obtain consent again where required.
