BreezeCam Privacy Policy

BreezeCam is a local-first camera monitoring and recording app provided by Breeze Gao. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, stores, uses, and shares.

1. Information We Access

BreezeCam may access the following information only when needed for app features:

  • Camera: used to preview and record monitoring video.
  • Microphone: used to record audio with monitoring videos when audio recording is enabled.
  • Photos add-only access: used only when you choose to save a recording to your Photos library. BreezeCam does not use this permission to browse your photo library.
  • Local app storage: used to save recordings, thumbnails, playback cache, app settings, recording indexes, upload status, operational diagnostic logs, and optional debug timeline files.
  • Device information: an app-generated device identifier and the device name or model label may be used to identify the source device in synchronized recording lists.
  • iCloud account services: used when you select iCloud as a save location or enable Device Data Sync.
  • Network access: used for iCloud and when you configure cloud or network storage such as S3-compatible storage, WebDAV, or SMB/Samba.

BreezeCam does not require an account.

BreezeCam may offer App Store in-app purchases for paid feature unlocks. Payments are processed by Apple. BreezeCam stores only the local entitlement state needed to enable the trial or purchased features, such as whether Pro is unlocked and when a local trial started.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

By default, recordings and related data are stored locally on your device in the app's private storage. This may include:

  • Video recordings
  • Thumbnails
  • Recording metadata such as start time, duration, file size, resolution, trigger type, and upload status
  • App settings
  • An app-generated device identifier and a device name or model label
  • Operational diagnostic logs about app lifecycle and storage operations
  • Optional debug timeline data used for playback watermark and diagnostics, such as motion scores, detection region, CPU, memory, thermal state, and frame timing

3. iCloud, Photos, Cloud, or Network Storage

If you select iCloud as a recording save location, BreezeCam stores recordings, thumbnails, recording metadata, and related sidecar files as records and assets in the CloudKit private database associated with your signed-in Apple ID. Devices signed in to the same Apple ID can access this data through BreezeCam. This data uses your iCloud storage quota. BreezeCam does not provide or sell iCloud storage, operate an iCloud account, or receive this data on developer-operated servers.

If you enable Device Data Sync, BreezeCam may sync app settings, configured storage target details, storage credentials, and recording index data between your devices through Apple services. Recording index data may include recording times, duration, file size, resolution, audio and trigger status, motion score, remote paths, storage target identifiers, deletion markers, an app-generated device identifier, and the source device name or model label. Storage passwords and secret keys are synchronized through iCloud Keychain; other synchronized data is stored in the CloudKit private database. Device Data Sync does not by itself upload video files, but videos are uploaded to iCloud when iCloud is selected as the recording save location.

If you configure S3-compatible storage, WebDAV, or SMB/Samba, BreezeCam may upload recordings, thumbnails, recording metadata, deletion markers, and related debug sidecar files to the storage destination that you provide.

If you choose Save to Photos for a recording, BreezeCam requests add-only Photos access and copies the selected video to your Photos library. The copy is then managed by the Photos app and your Apple account settings.

BreezeCam does not provide or operate those storage services. Apple or the storage provider you configure may process your data according to their own terms and privacy policy.

Credentials for configured S3-compatible, WebDAV, or SMB/Samba storage targets are stored on your device using platform secure storage where available. If you enable Device Data Sync, those credentials may be migrated to synchronizable iCloud Keychain so your devices signed in with the same Apple ID can read them. Selecting iCloud storage does not require you to enter your Apple ID credentials in BreezeCam.

4. Data Sharing

BreezeCam does not sell your data.

BreezeCam does not use advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or developer-operated tracking servers.

Your recordings and related files leave local app storage only when you select iCloud or another external storage destination, or when you choose to save a recording to Photos. Device Data Sync sends the data described above through Apple iCloud services when enabled. Apple processes purchases, iCloud data, iCloud Keychain data, and Photos data according to Apple's own terms and privacy policy. A storage provider you configure processes uploaded data according to that provider's terms and privacy policy.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Local recordings are retained according to the retention settings you choose in the app. You can delete recordings from within the app.

In iCloud, cloud, or network storage mode, saved or uploaded files may remain in your selected storage destination until you delete them there or use app features that request remote deletion. Deletion records may be synchronized between devices. Remote deletion availability depends on your selected storage service and current app settings.

Uninstalling the app may remove local app data according to the operating system's behavior, but it will not delete data already stored in iCloud or another external storage provider, or videos copied to Photos.

6. Security

BreezeCam stores app data in the app's private storage area. Storage credentials are stored using secure storage mechanisms provided by the operating system where available.

When you configure external storage, you are responsible for choosing a secure endpoint, credentials, and network environment. BreezeCam cannot control the security practices of Apple iCloud, Photos, third-party, or self-hosted storage services.

7. Children's Privacy

BreezeCam is not designed for children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
